Word of the Day: Flabelliform

Definition: Shaped like a fan.

Today, a tin of beetroot decided to leap out of my hands and make a flabelliform stain on my white dress*.

I knew I hated the stuff. **

* This didn’t actually happen because I don’t own a white dress. But if I did, I’m sure I would spill beetroot on it the very first day.

** It’s actually very yummy.

This is the same sort of Murphy-esque luck that I have with newly purchased knives: as soon as the knife is out of the package, I always find some excuse to slice a finger open. Always.

I have killed multiple white shirts on the first wearing. One on the first washing—I pre-emptively bleached it, forgot about it… It turned yellow. In places.
